EJ Peak win Xchange 2023 Best Application Award

EJ Peak Technology Solutions, part of the Edwin James Group, has won the Xchange 2023 Best Application Award for their Operational Technology project on the North London Heat and Power EcoPark project.

Peak collaborated with EJ Parker Technical Services and our client team (Taylor Woodrow and LondonEnergy), on the North London Heat and Power EcoPark initiative, which aims to revolutionise recycling facilities and waste management. This ambitious project replaces the existing energy-from-waste plant with a cutting-edge EcoPark, including the UK’s greenest Energy Recovery Facility and advanced recycling capabilities.

The Peak team leveraged AVEVA technology and the support from SolutionsPT – Industrial IT to produce a distributed control system that seamlessly integrates the process and the infrastructure across the EcoPark: the Unified Operations Centre provides a cross-functional view of the entire facility, including the Process, the Energy Centre, IT Infrastructure and BMS.

The project, initiated in 2019, is on track to be completed within the budget, with an estimated cost of £1.4bn. It will have a number of impactful outcomes including:
•          Generation of electricity for up to 127,000 homes.
•          Provision of heating for up to 60,000 local homes and businesses, eliminating the need for gas boilers.
•          Significant improvement in local air quality and carbon savings equivalent to removing 110,000 cars off the road annually.
•          Scalable technology to meet future site requirements.
