MARCH awarded Hard FM services contract by Alleyn’s School

Alleyn’s School has chosen MARCH to deliver hard facilities management (FM) services at its two sites in South London following a competitive tender. The contract covers comprehensive maintenance services across Alleyn’s 23-building estate on Townley Road and the School’s Edward Alleyn Club site in Herne Hill. It will run for an initial three-year term with the potential of two additional one-year extensions.

The contract began in December with a mobilisation phase where MARCH will provide a full asset verification and lifecycle assessment. The initial phase will ensure accurate documentation and condition assessment of all assets, enabling MARCH to establish accurate replacement timelines and build a strategy for effective lifecycle management.

Phase two, a planned and reactive maintenance programme tailored to meet the specific needs of Alleyn’s diverse estate, will follow in February 2025. Services will include mechanical and electrical maintenance, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, water hygiene, building management systems, computer-aided facility management & helpdesk services, and 24/7 reactive maintenance.

Commenting on the win, Donald Jackman, Facilities Services Director at MARCH said: “At MARCH, we are committed to building partnerships that make a real difference. By bringing our expertise to Alleyn’s diverse estate, we aim to enhance its efficiency and longevity through proactive asset management and a focus on long-term infrastructure health. Working together, we’ll ensure their facilities operate smoothly and reliably, allowing them to dedicate their energy to what truly matters – serving their school community.”

Neil Sheppard, Director of Site Operations at Alleyn’s School, continued, “We’re pleased to be working with MARCH as our chosen Hard FM services partner. Their in-depth understanding of our needs, paired with a skilled team and a commitment to shared values, makes them an ideal fit. We look forward to a collaborative relationship that will benefit our entire school community.”

Alleyn’s School is a leading HMC co-educational school for children aged 4-18. Located in the creative heart of South London, with a history dating back to its founding by Edward Alleyn in 1619. The school’s diverse estate includes 23 buildings on its Townley Road site and the Edward Alleyn Club in Herne Hill, offering a rich environment where academic and creative excellence are nurtured.
