History

Our client, a multinational chemicals company, produces nematode-based biological pest control products. There was a requirement to increase the production volume to meet with increasing demand within the market.

The production method is via a fermentation process that takes place within sterile fermentation vessels with temperature control to manage the fermentation conditions.

Solution

March manufactured and installed two new 10,000L Fermentation vessels and 2 fermentation support vessels for BASF.

March was also contracted to carry out the complete aseptic pipework installation to integrate all process services required to facilitate the fermentation process.

Results

The planned installation is set to increase production by 14% per month.
