Expertise
March has been trusted by key UK industries for decades. We understand the challenges that business faces in terms of productivity, competition, cost control, safety, security and compliance.
March was challenged to provide a system for auditing, identifying and completing the necessary remedial actions and maintaining compliance to PUWER 98 in the future.
A decision was taken by March client, a world-renowned producer of soft drinks, to ensure UK operational compliance to PUWER 98 regulations.
The Rugby site was being used to pilot the process with the other sites to follow upon successful completion.
A survey was conducted by an independent specialist and identified hazards associated with assets which needed to be modified to satisfy UK Regulations. March then stepped in to provide a system which would allow for compliance to be met.
March provided a project programme, consisting of work packages covering study, design, manufacture, procurement, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning.
Timescales were assessed for each hazard to ensure minimal downtime and a dedicated Project Manager coordinated all associated tasks.
A separate report (Machinery Modification Specification) identified how each asset was to be modified to provide solutions for the machinery safety compliance remedial actions. This included the identification of technical documentation and supported Britvic’s Design Qualification activity.
Mechanical & Electrical upgrades were conducted and supporting documentation, such as amended operating and maintenance manual documentation, were provided.
Crucially, working life has been made safer for everyone coming into contact with the site machinery and equipment.
Additionally, the client has the knowledge and documented evidence that all equipment and machinery is safe and suitable for its intended purpose.
